Capture your life and inspiration in your own mixed media art journal! Learn layering techniques to create captivating backgrounds. Explore drawing skills to add details. Expand your creative "toolbox" in a variety of wet or dry mediums. Impress part of your heart on each page, adding your most personal thoughts or poems, scriptures, photographs, etc.
In addition to paint and drawing, we will employ glue, glitter, paper, magazine cut outs, copies of your own art, coffee filters etc. The sky is the limit to explore your thoughts and embellish your Journal!
Supply List:
Mixed Media Journal (any size, thick pages)
Waterproof ink pen, black and other choice of color
White gel or acrylic pen (to write or make details)
Acrylic Paints/ watercolor/ color pencils/ markers or your choice of medium to work with.
Small brushes, round tip for details and one for bigger surface
Transparent Heavy Duty Glue/ Gel Medium
Gesso to waterproof surface, any color of choice
Other Information: Instructor will bring some extra materials.
About the Instructor:
West Virginia based multimedia artist, Yoyi Fogarty-Bennett, has learned and mastered many mediums including ink, watercolor, charcoal figure & still life drawing, acrylics, mixed media, cold wax and encaustic painting. She also designs and makes hand-crafted jewelry, textile art and is a firm believer in upcycling objects and materials.
